Choosing a CRM
How much does a CRM cost for a small business in Quebec?
It depends on the number of users and on what is billed as an add-on. With CRM PME there are no paid add-ons: Solo is CA$29/month for one person; Pro is CA$29/month plus CA$19 per user; Max is CA$129/month plus CA$19 per user (billed yearly, before tax), with no setup fee. Whatever CRM you look at, compare the total: a lower sticker price can leave e-signing, invoicing or reminders to be paid separately.
Which French-language CRM suits a Quebec small business?
Look for three things: an interface and documents in French — and in English if some of your clients are English-speaking; Quebec taxes (GST/QST) computed on quotes and invoices; and hosting you can locate. CRM PME was built in Quebec with all three: a French and English interface, every quote, invoice and email sent in the client's language, taxes computed by province, and primary hosting in Quebec.
Is there a CRM that also handles quotes and invoices with GST/QST?
Yes, that is what CRM PME is built around. The quote is signed online, then becomes an invoice in one click. GST and QST — or HST and PST elsewhere in Canada — are computed from the province. Your client pays by card through Stripe or by following your own instructions (Interac transfer, for example), and reminders go out on their own at day 7, day 15 and day 30 after the due date.
Getting started
How fast can I send my first invoice?
A few minutes after signup, once you have your tax numbers and a first contact saved. Create a contact, add a line item with GST/QST, save, click "Send" — your first invoice goes out by email with a Stripe payment link. Many people do it during the 14-day trial.
Is there a free trial?
14 days, no credit card required. You get full access to your plan (Solo, Pro, or Max depending on what you pick at signup). At day 11, you get a friendly reminder. At day 14, you pick a plan or your tenant goes into a 3-day grace period before deletion.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge). Mobile responsive. No app to download.
How long does setup take?
5 minutes for the bare minimum. Add your logo, your tax numbers (GST/QST), your terms of payment — and you're ready to invoice. Connecting Stripe and QuickBooks adds maybe 10 minutes.
Can I import contacts from Excel/CSV?
Yes. A downloadable Excel template (with the correct column headers + an example row) is available from the Contacts > Import screen. The import auto-recognizes common headers in French and English (prenom/first_name/firstname, courriel/email/mail, etc.). For more complex migrations (full activity history, multi-entity mapping), see the Sur Mesure plan on the Pricing page.
Pricing
Are there hidden fees?
No. The price you see is the price you pay (pre-tax), with no setup fee on any plan. Quotes, e-signing, invoicing, Stripe, auto-reminders, client portal, audiences and QuickBooks sync are included in every plan. Calendar, recurring invoicing and time tracking are included from Pro. No paid add-ons.
Monthly or yearly billing?
Both. Yearly billing applies a -25% discount automatically (vs the monthly rate). Switch anytime in the billing portal.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, in one click. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period: you keep access until then, which leaves time to export your data (Excel or CSV).
Are GST/QST included in the displayed price?
No. Prices are pre-tax. Quebec customers pay 5% GST + 9.975% QST extra. Outside Quebec but inside Canada: GST + applicable provincial tax.
Features
Is the e-signature legally valid in Québec?
CRM PME's electronic signature is designed around the principles of Quebec's LCJTI: the signer is identified through a unique link sent to their email, consent is explicit, the quote is locked as soon as the signature request is sent, and a timestamped proof is emailed to the signer, while you are notified. It suits quotes and everyday commercial contracts. For a document that requires a specific form (notarial deed, will), it does not replace the required procedure.
How do auto-reminders work?
Three reminders leave on their own at J+7, J+15 and J+30 after the invoice due date. Each one is a real email to the client plus an internal task in your task list, and the whole thing is idempotent — no double-send. The formal demand for payment is deliberately NOT automatic: it carries legal weight in Québec, so you send it yourself from the invoice, after a confirmation, when you decide to.
Does the client portal require an account?
No. Each contact gets a unique 256-bit magic link by email. They access their portal, see quotes/invoices, pay online. No password, no account creation.
Can I customize my invoices/quotes?
Yes. Your logo, primary color, terms of payment, signature block, language preference. PDF template is the same across all plans.
Does it sync with QuickBooks?
Yes. Two-way sync for contacts, companies, invoices, payments. Webhook for changes from QuickBooks. qb_*_id fields on the models track the mapping.
Can I track billable hours?
Yes. Topbar timer with start/pause/resume/stop. Project name + hourly rate per client. Convert unbilled time into invoice lines in one click. Recovery alert if you forget to stop the timer past 12 h.
Comparisons
How do CRM PME, Pipedrive and Kiwili differ?
All three are sales-cycle CRMs (not marketing platforms). Pipedrive is global and English-first with a mature mobile app. Kiwili is Quebec-built and bundles full accounting with the CRM. CRM PME is Quebec-native, bilingual outputs (every quote/invoice/email in the recipient's language), syncs to QuickBooks for accounting, and bundles e-signing + client portal + auto-reminders into every plan with no add-ons.
Can I migrate from another CRM (Pipedrive, Kiwili, or any CSV/Excel export)?
Yes. Most CRMs support CSV exports for contacts, companies and deals. The import auto-recognizes common headers in French and English; you can also download a template with the expected columns. For more complex migrations (activity history with timestamps, calls/emails/meetings, multi-entity mapping), see the Sur Mesure plan on the Pricing page.
Security & data
Where is my data hosted?
Primary hosting in Québec, Canada. Daily encrypted backups kept in another Canadian region (Ontario). Some services, such as payment processing and email delivery, may process data outside Canada; they are named in the Privacy Policy.
Are backups encrypted?
Yes. GPG AES-256 with a 40-character CSPRNG passphrase stored outside the server in a password manager. Without the passphrase, backup blobs are unreadable.
Is 2FA mandatory?
Yes — 2FA is enabled on every account, with a 14-day grace period to enroll after first sign-in. Supports any standard TOTP authenticator (Google, Microsoft, Bitwarden, Authy, 1Password).
Which tools help me protect my clients' information?
Per-channel consents on every contact (email, SMS, phone) with their date, a consent flag for campaigns, a change log on your records, Excel or CSV export, and mandatory 2FA. See the Security page for details.
Are you SOC 2 / ISO 27001 certified?
No — those certifications are aimed at larger organizations. I apply the controls (encrypted backups, MFA, least-privilege, audit logs, dependency scanning) without the third-party attestation.
Support
How is support structured?
CRM PME is built for self-service. You learn the product through the in-app docs (press "?"), the 14-day trial without a card, and the public help pages. Email support (info@crmpme.ca) is reserved for real bugs, technical issues, billing/account questions and security concerns. I don't do phone calls, sales demos, onboarding sessions or training on standard plans. If you want hands-on setup, see the Sur Mesure plan on the Pricing page.
What does email support cover (and what doesn't it)?
Covers: real bugs with reproduction steps, technical errors, billing or account issues, security or privacy questions, data export requests, press or partnership inquiries. Does NOT cover: how-to questions answered in the docs, custom workflow design, third-party integration consulting, training sessions, "can you set this up for me" requests. The Sur Mesure plan covers those.
What's the response time?
Under 24 business hours on all standard plans. Critical issues (data loss, security incident) are typically picked up within hours during business days. No published SLA on standard plans — I publish an uptime target and live status on the status page.
Is the documentation good enough to learn the product alone?
Yes — that's the design intent. Every screen has contextual help (press "?"), there's a full /help index, and every new feature ships with updated docs in the same release. Up-to-date docs are what let you move forward on your own, without waiting on anyone.
What if I find a bug?
Email info@crmpme.ca with reproduction steps (URL, action you took, what you expected vs got). Critical bugs (data loss, security) are patched within hours during business days. Non-critical bugs go into the next release.
Is support in French?
Yes. I answer in French or English based on your message language, from Quebec.
